My client is searching for Fixed Assets Accountant for a permanent position in Iraq.
An excellent opportunity for an ambitious qualified Accountant. The responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:
• Record and manage the fixed asset transactions in the accounting Application, including set-up and settlement of capital projects and processing fixed asset transfers and disposals.
• Process monthly entry for depreciations.
• Ensuring that all fixed assets control accounts are reconciled monthly; reviewing and acting all requests for corrective journals to the relevant accounting modules.
• Participate in fixed asset and depreciation reconciliation process, investigate any variances in conjunction with G/L accounting and provide the necessary treatments.
Producing work flow and process documentation of all fixed assets procedure to ensure continuity of business during contingencies and suggesting improvements where considered necessary.
• Identifying the appropriate accounting treatments of all transactions passing through the fixed assets module.
• Compliance with fixed asset capitalization policy.
• Effective interdepartmental communication of issues affecting the Fixed Assets accounts.
• Budget tracking in connection to fixed assets.
• Assist in coordination with external auditors and internal reviews.
• Coordinate periodic fixed asset inventories in accordance with company policy.
• Other ad-hoc accounting/financial duties.
Qualifications, skills, experience and personal qualities:
• Bachelor`s degree in Accounting and/or a Chartered Accountancy qualification from a reputable professional association.
• Proven understanding of financial accounting concepts and standards.
• 4+ years of fixed assets accounting experience in Telecom Firms.
• Good computer skills in MS office like excel, etc and accounting applications.
• Arabic and English languages.
• Good problem solving and reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to work under pressure and long hours.
