The Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner Palliative Care practices in an advanced role in end of life care. Through advanced nursing knowledge, is responsible for the development and application of high standards and research to enhance the quality of care in the assigned areas. Functions autonomously and in collaboration with health care providers as an expert clinical practitioner, researcher, consultant, leader, and educator. Assesses patient/family and staff educational needs and implements learning modalities to meet these needs.
