Postion Summary : Responsible for the direction and performance of his vehicles
Crew in the performance of fire fighting and rescue duties.
Reports To : Station Captain (Duty officer)
Principal Duties:
1 Leads the crew of his assigned vehicle or equipment in the performance of all fire
Fighting, rescue or other required duties, both structural and/or aircraft.
2 Directs the deployment and positioning of his crew and equipment in response to
Emergency call outs.
3 Responsible for operation of his vehicles radio communications and for coordination
With other emergency services vehicles.
4 Responsible for all communication with the control tower and fire control center for all
Necessary runway clearance and instructions.
5 Activities turrets, hoses, nozzles, pumps, or other equipment to expel extinguishing
Agent appropriate to type of fire.
6 Activates ladders and turntables required for rescue or access purposes.
7 Supervises the replenishments of water and agent tanks.
8 Assists in the training of crew members in the correct fire/rescue procedures and
Demonstrate the uses of various types of equipment.
9 Performs check on assigned vehicle and equipment at commencement of shift for any
Malfunctions of engines, transmission, gearboxes pumps, hydraulics and any other
System responsible for.
10 Performs minor and preventive maintenance on assigned vehicle and equipment.
11 Checks fuel, oil, water, agent level, replenishes as required.
12 Reports all vehicle and equipment malfunctions requiring workshop attention to station
Captain.
13 Performs required duties to maintain station in a clean and order; condition.
14 Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: twelve (12) years formal education
Specialized Qualifications: shall have completed courses in and be qualified to
N.F.P.A. Officer level I. Shall also be qualified to N.F.P.A. -1003 airport fire fighter. NFPA
472 first responder operational level, and advanced first and qualified.
Nationals from countries other than the United States shall possess qualifications at
Least equal to the above.
EXPERIENCE: ten (10) years experience in fire/rescue services including five (5) years in a
Supervisory position. At least two (2) of the five (5) years must have been spent at a
Category six (6) or above airport in an equivalent position.
LANGUAGE: Arabic desirable. Ability to read, write and speak English required.
OTHER: valid heavy vehicle operator’s license in country of origin and ability to obtain
Same in Saudi Arabia. Must be familiar with BFPA codes and IFSTA manual. |
