Websphere MQ (MQSeries) System administrator – Warsaw - Poland
Halian is an IT services company focused on delivering creative IT solutions to a number of large enterprises in the financial, telecommunications, and media sectors in the UK, Europe and USA
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical support during the normal working day. Provide on-call support on a rotated 7x24 basis and respond within the agreed SLA. Satisfy any on-site support requirements as required. • Install and maintain Websphere MQ (MQSeries) and related system software across multiple platforms.
• Ensure systems adhere to appropriate levels of security and compliance to standards.
• Liase with third party suppliers to resolve product issues.
• Liase with Applications Production Support groups to aid in problem diagnosis.
• Act as consultant to Applications Development groups on technical matters pertaining to WebsphereMQ (MQSeries) application design and performance.
• Provide support and advice to remote locations.
• Monitor the performance of the WebsphereMQ (MQSeries) and instigate remedial action where necessary, adhering to the normal escalation procedures.
• Produce clear technical documentation and conform to any audit requirements. • Work within and support the necessary management processes.
• The team provides on-site cover from 09:00 to 17:00 and on call cover outside of this period for production applications on a 7x24 rotating bases. Weekend work is required to support upgrades and installations.
• Ensure all activities are performed comprehensively and in confirmation with CITMP Policy

| Kenntnisse erforderlich: |
Knowledge/Experience:
• A skilled software professional with at least 5 years experience in I.T and at least 3 years current WebsphereMQ (MQSeries) support knowledge in a large organisation.
• Accustomed to supporting a 24*7 high value operation, where there is a rapid rate of technical change, but reliability is mandatory, hence adherence to change control disciplines is a necessity. Experiences preferably to have been obtained in a major financial institution.
• A self-starter, but also a completer/finisher who ensures that tasks/projects are fully completed with the necessary updates to documentation.
• Well organised and able to keep a number of activities in progress in parallel, balancing priorities as necessary, in particular between support and project work.
• A good team member, able to guide/support colleagues and to take guidance where necessary.
Skills:
• Knowledge of and hands on experience of most of the following products is required:
WebsphereMQ (MQSeries) for UNIX, Windows NT, AS400, Open/VMS
(UNIX and Windows are essential and at least one of the other platforms)
System Programming / System Administration of UNIX systems.
IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Mq (Candle for MQSeries)
UNIX Shell Script
• Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
WebsphereMQ (MQSeries) monitoring tools
JAVA
Weblogic
Websphere Application Server
