Position Summary
The Test Strategy & Hardware department at Research in Motion is responsible for the design and development of advanced manufacturing test processes and high volume test systems and solutions for RIM products. Research in Motion`s products are constantly evolving and increasing in complexity, providing significant challenges to test developers. Test Strategy & Hardware supports RIM`s design and manufacturing activities, ensuring that the test needs of future new products will be met and that best in class cost of test can be achieved.
Responsibilities
The position of Test Systems Developer for the Test Hardware Development team will create and implement future manufacturing test platforms capable of supporting RIM`s future product needs and providing:
• Best cost
• Flexibility
• Ease of replication
• Support for new product features
• Support for automation
• Leverage the latest in new equipment concepts
Essential Skills And Qualifications
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• 5+ years experience of manufacturing engineering and/or product development
• A strong understanding of mobile phone test methods in either a research and development or manufacturing environment
• A track record of personal creativity and innovation
Significant hands on experience in some or all of the following test developments:
• Test instrumentation and remote control
• Test system development
• Circuit design
• Audio and acoustic measurement techniques
• Radio Frequency (RF) measurement techniques
• 2G, 3G cellular radio standards, GPS, Bluetooth, WLAN
