WWF, the global conservation organization, is seeking to recruit a
Communications Senior Manager,
Tiger Network Initiative (TNI).
Tigers are one of the greatest icons of conservation and have been the focus for much of WWF’s work for over 40 years. WWF`s Tiger Initiative - working in 13 habitats stretching from Russia to Indonesia and using global advocacy - aims to halt the decline of wild tiger populations and ensure a future for this evocative animal, and the people and spectacular places that rely on their conservation.
The Tiger Initiative Communications Senior Manager will have the unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of the communications strategy to advance the goals and objectives of WWF`s Tiger Initiative, as well as to facilitate internal communications about the Intiative within WWF.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance and supervision of the Tiger Initiative Leader, the Communications Senior Manager will;
- Lead the communications strategy for the Tiger Initiative
- Lead and manage the delivery of internal and external communications for the Tiger Initiative that help secure conservation wins, strengthen WWF’s profile, and support fundraising.
- Develop superb working relationships within and outside the WWF network, enhancing existing human and financial resources, and advancing WWF`s tiger agenda at all levels to create maximum impact.
- Implement a coordinated and effective WWF campaign for the 2010 Chinese Year of the Tiger.

| Kenntnisse erforderlich: |
Required qualifications and skills
• University level qualifications in Journalism or Communications; with desirable Post-graduate level in a relevant subject;
• At least 5 years communications experience in a high-profile, preferably non-profit organization with responsibility for devising, formulating and implementing communications strategies and workplans knowledge and passion for conservation, particularly tiger conservation, will be an advantage;
• Demonstrated experience of working in an international setting is essential, as is success in communicating complex issues in a persuasive way to a wide variety of audiences at all levels using diverse channels (TV, print, radio, web, etc.).
• Experience of communications around international policy institutions and fora are preferable
• The candidate will have a proven track record in successful international communications strategies and activities undertaken in a multi-cultural setting, coupled with the ability to anticipate and capitalise on opportunities and achieve high profile results.
• Experience leading and participating in multi-disciplinary teams and building consensus, optimism and confidence in the face of challenges and pressure while charting new territory for the organisation, is a must.
• Familiarity with a wide range of communication tools and approaches, their potential impact and their suitability for an organisation like WWF, is also required.
• Long-term planning and analytical skills, as well as demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively to tight deadlines without compromising quality, are necessary.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as are skills in partnership development and the ability to develop relationships with a wide range of audiences.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, supported by good computer and Internet skills, are required. Fluent English is essential; other languages would be an asset.
Location base : WWF-Malaysia office in Kuala Lumpur, with frequent travel to the other countries.
Duration of contract: 3 years (extendable) with competitive compensation package.
