Not looking for someone who`s moved up from Cost Engineering to become a PCM, more someone from a Construction Planning background.
No older than 60.
20+ years project planning experience
Minimum 5 years as Project Planning Lead/ Project Controls Manager at construction site of Large Integrated projects involving multi-disciplines subcontractors.
Majority of the experience should be with an EPC Main Contractor or Main Construction Contractor.
Candidates with only Client / Owner side experience are not preferred.
Exposure to EPC Environments for onshore oil & gas industry.

Project Controls Manager (Construction Planning):
Abu Dhabi or Algeria
The rotation is 10/3 weeks - single status - accommodation and food provided.
It is site based, it is a 6 day, 10 hours a day week.
Experience:
20+ years project planning experience
Minimum 5 years as Project Planning Lead/ Project Controls Manager at construction site of Large Integrated projects involving multi-disciplines subcontractors.
Majority of the experience should be with an EPC Main Contractor or Main Construction Contractor.
Candidates with only Client / Owner side experience are not preferred.
Exposure to EPC Environments for onshore oil & gas industry.
Skills:
Logical sequencing of Construction, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning activities.
Knowledge of EPC interfaces between Home office (E&P) and site activities.
Familiar with commodity planning, area planning and system/subsystem planning.
Able to conceptual overall construction plan.
Work Flows and Work Front Generation
Knowledge of project implementation phases & dependencies.
Knowledge on progress measurement system & methodology
Knowledge of construction resource requirement with productivity.
Hands on working experience in Scheduling packages such as Primavera, MS office etc.
Report writing & compilation
Good communication & presentation skills
Analytical abilities for schedule, risk, Invoicing, performance analysis
Co-ordination skill
Ability to lead a team

Responsibility
Provide leadership and guidance to the construction planning team to ensure that field project controls documents such as construction schedules, resource histogram, reporting systems, commodity data base, material controls systems, etc are fully developed & implemented and that engineering & procurement activities are properly interfaced.
Prepare the detail progress measurement system for construction commodity and construction progress S curves.
Determine the resource requirements and prepare manpower histogram.
Monitoring progress of the construction work for timely execution of the project through daily/ weekly/ monthly reports with respect to review of the overall project. Progress monitoring on a regular basis and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts.
Review of the status continuously and keep the construction Manager appraised of the progress and the areas needing attention for schedule adherence.
Provide direction to the sub contractor planning team in formulating overall execution plan which will satisfy the interest of overall project completion.
Close coordination/ follow up of sub contractor in implementing the work schedule and monitor progress of the work for timely execution of the project.
Works in close coordination with Area coordinator to ensure that the work progresses as per schedule and follow overall project priority.
Participates in review meeting with client & sub contractors.
Develop systems and procedures for site project control functions and as and when there are additional requirements from the client in order to facilitate the monitoring of construction & commissioning works. |
