Location Abu Dhabi
Role Purpose
To evaluate, plan and develop designs and redesign concepts to improve existing urban lighting systems in order to ensure consistency and to introduce cutting edge lighting systems to beautify structures in the city of Abu Dhabi within the approved urban planning.
Key Accountabilities & Activities
Urban Lighting
• Develop conceptual plans and budgets for the urban lighting projects to support decision making
• Prepares requests for proposals and conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate project implementation
• Oversees the execution of lighting project by contracted entities
• Monitor all project implementation to ensure compliance with international standards and signed contracts
• Maintenance of all urban lighting projects and ensure overall smooth operation
• Interact with architects and engineers and landscapers involved in major project to ensure lighting systems meet international standards and consistent with Client standards
• Collaborate with Energy Efficiency Specialist to ensure no wastage of electricity resources
Policies and Guidelines
• Manage the development of policy and procedures guidance to include all key aspects related to urban lighting development and maintenance
Team Management
• Leads a team of professionals within own area of control and focus
• Monitors, supervises, guides and directs employees.
• Provides clear top-down communication to employees and bottom-up feedback to Senior Management
• Provide on-the-job training activities for employees
Communication
• Communicate with colleagues and management through briefings, technical and operational reports and presentations
Reporting
• Create and issue periodic and ad-hoc reports to management
Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job
• Background in urban lighting
• At least 10 -15 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to lead complex teams
• Results driven orientation with proven negotiation skills
• Experience in executing large scale projects on time, within budget and to specifications
• Ability to create and use project planning and monitoring systems to organize activities and measure project performance
Education and Certification requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Electric Engineering / Science

• Computer operations including Microsoft Word, Excel and other pertinent programs
