I studied geology and i am keen to working with geophysical methods.
As i am not bound in germany, and i am highly intrerested in foreign countries and cultures, i try to find work anywhere, but europe.
The combination of this two wishes (stay outside europe for a while and work with geophysical methods) automatically leads to the broad field of "exploration", which therefore would be my favourite kind of employment. |

Schooling:
I visited basic school (4 Years), secondary school (6 years) and an economical orientated grammar school (3 Years).
I finished in 1995 and received my „Abitur“
Civilian Service:
1996 – 1997: I fulfilled my civilian service as a kindergarten teacher in a preschool for disabled children.
1997 – 2007: I studied geology in „Freiburg im Breisgau“. My special interests are geophysical methods and measurements. For my diploma thesis i successfully traced subsurface pollutants emitted to ground water by a buried toxical waste dump, mainly using geoelectrical and geomagnetical methods. My diploma mapping i carried out in the desert of Sonora, North Mexico.
In february 2009 a have the opportunity to visit a 3 month training course as „Radiation-Protectionist“ at the „Paul-Scherer-Institut (PSI)“, Switzerland.

1999 – 2007: I did temporary jobs for the „Ingenieurgruppe Geotechnik“, a group of consulting engineers. I used several field techniques, such as small drilling and dynamic probing devices, I carried out core Interpretation, worked in a pedological laboratory, used basic presentation software to represent results, etc.
As I had to finance my studies by myself, since 2001 i manly worked self-employed as plasterer, exhibition stand constructor and tourist guide in Titisee.
After finishing my studies, i took up a geologist job for the „Ingenieurgruppe Geotechnik“. From august 2007 to march 2008, I was responsible for the geological mentoring during the excavation of the building pit for the biggest European hydroelectric power plant, which is under construction in Rheinfelden, south Germany. I mapped the excavated walls, supervised a net of deformational and groundwater measurements around the Pit, evaluated pump tests, monitored cement injections, interpretated drilling cores, wrote reports and attended several meetings.
The excavation finished at the and of march 2008.
As the „Ingenieurgruppe Geotechnik“ just carries out soil Investigation reports in south Germany and i am interested in working outside Europe, i finished my employment after the end of the excavation in Rheinfelden. |
