Ensure the efficient daily restaurant operations and profitability achievement while maintaining the brand concept. Assist the Executive Chef in selecting successful menu items. Ensure high standards of food, service and health and safety at all times and able to combine strategic planning, organizing shift patterns, and day-to-day management activities.
Typical Work Activities
Typical work activities will vary depending on the type of restaurant, but usually include:
Business activities:
• taking responsibility for the business performance of the restaurant
• analyzing and planning the sales levels and profitability
• coordinate with Marketing Department in organizing marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes and other local outlet marketing strategies
• preparing reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales
• creating and executing plans for sales, profit and staff development
• setting budgets as discussed, presented and approved by the with the Brand Manager
• planning and coordinating menus with the Executive Chef
Front of house / On Floor Shift Management:
• coordinating the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts
• managing staff throughout their shift and providing them with feedback
• dealing with customer complaints
• ensuring that all employees adhere to the company's uniform standards
• meeting and greeting customers and oversee table reservations
• recruiting, training and motivating staff
• organizing and supervising the shifts of the front of the house staff including the cleaners
• Oversee daily cash flow management
Housekeeping for the Front of the House:
• maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
• checking stock levels and ordering supplies
• preparing cash drawers and providing petty cash as required
• helping out in any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictate
