Job Description
To provide mechanical building services design engineering expertise on single and multi disciplinary projects.
Requirements
Degree qualified – minimum requirement of BEng
Around 12 years experience working in design of Building Services for Private, Government, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Leisure and Hotel markets.
Minimum 5 years experience in Middle East
Experience of mechanical design software – Computer design package E-20, IES Design Suite, Hevacomp
Understanding of British, American and International design standards
Good level of computer literacy in Windows and other Microsoft products
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential
Ability to manage the workload of a team of more junior engineers/technicians
Responsibilities
Carry out Building Services (Air-Conditioning, Drainage, Domestic water, Fire Protection, LPG etc) design to ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA, International and British Standards and Local municipality and Utility Authority regulations
Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers and Electrical Engineers and any other design consultants
Coordinate with, instruct and supervise Mechanical Engineers and AutoCAD Technicians
Carry out arithmetical checks and independent design checks of other Engineer’s design and design reviews in accordance with our clients Quality procedures
Responsible for the correctness and accuracy of their own work and the work of the team
Complete engineering work within the agreed programme, or notify the Head of Department if not
Responsible for the checking of CAD works done under their supervision
To instruct CAD operators in all project related matters
To understand and implement QA procedures and advise Engineers/Technicians
To coordinate with other design disciplines as required on a day-to-day basis or as set out by the project requirements
