Position: Deputy General Manager, Bus Operations
Salary Range: $111k-$167k
Department: Bus Operations

Supervisor: Vp/gm Bus Operations
Work Location: Penn Plaza, Newark
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Plans, directs, and monitors the day-to-day transportation activities to ensure that NJ TRANSIT Bus Operations operates a safe, reliable, clean service in an effective, efficient manner.
2. Directs staff to identify issues, solve problems, set policies and procedures and determine priorities.
3. Plans, approves and monitors budgets, expenditures, and purchases to ensure fiscal responsibility and maximization of fiscal resources.
4. Directs operational and technical support training programs for NJ TRANSIT Bus Operations to meet organizational manpower needs with qualified employees.
5. Coordinates with other departments outside of Bus Operations to ensure that the transportation function of NJ TRANSIT Bus Operations receives the support (i.E. Human Resources, Parts, Supplies, Facilities, etc.) to meet its mission.
6. Coordinates with local elected officials, other transit agencies, and other agencies as appropriate to address local transportation concerns.
7. Ensures that assigned employees are properly motivated, guided, developed and trained by appropriate supervision.

| Habilidades: |
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Baccalaureate Degree in Transportation, Business Administration, or related area and twelve (12) years of progressive senior managerial experience in transportation or bus operations.
(Six yrs of appropriate experience substitutes for the degree)
