Purpose of position: Under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officer and with assistance and collaboration from
Human Resources support staff, as pertaining to a non-profit organization, the Human Resources
Manager will be responsible for staffing, promoting positive employee, volunteer and Girl Scout
relations, Human Resources information analysis and report writing , benefits management,
compensation administration, manage employment practices and other procedures related to the
Employee Handbook. Strong working knowledge of current Federal and State laws and government regulations at they pertain to personnel.
Major accountabilities: Including but not limited to:
Job Recruitment: Manage recruitment budget, selection process to include: job requisitions/descriptions, candidate
sourcing, screen resumes and applications: partner with managers to interview candidates, check
references, and conduct orientation of any and all new employees whether exempt or non-
exempt, full or part-time, paid or volunteer.
Employee Relations: Promote positive image and relations between employees, volunteers and Girl Scouts in
accordance with mission and values of organization. Coaching and counseling employees and
managers regarding all policies and procedures, in reference to employee and human resource
practices, and maintain all Girl Scout’s safety and well-being. Promotion of positive image for
overall professionalism and focus on “Help Girls Grow”.
Payroll Responsibilities: Must have knowledge of and ability to write reports for ADP and HRIS systems.
Benefit Responsibilities: Administer and maintain to date all benefits for employees while establishing and maintaining
effective relationships with vendors offering these services in direct relations with the Girl Scouts
of San Diego and Imperial Valley Council.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide supervision and guidance to the Human Resources Coordinator and HR Admin. Clerk.
Additional Responsibilities: May include but are not limited to providing resources to employees regarding professional
development, providing updates to COO, CEO and Board of Directors, modifying or setting up
HR related systems, investigating and recommending resolution of difficult employee relations
matters, advising management on process of termination and/or suspension of employees.
Also preparation of GSUSA or Federal/State personnel reports; i.e. AAP or Applicant Tracking.

| Habilidades: |
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Federal and CA, supervisory skills, needed in non-profit organizations, strong written and verbal communications, ability to collaborate with a variety of people, positive leadership role model for Girl Scouts, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Word.
• 5-7 years as hands-on Human Resources Manager. Have had progressive roles in HR functional areas. College degree preferred in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Management, or related areas. SPHR Certification a plus.
• Must have clean driving record with acceptable insurance as Girl Scout transportation is necessary for specific functions.
