We are looking for a couple that will manage the restaurant and bar areas of the resort plus facilitate the day to day activities of small hotel and marina. This is a full time live-on-premises job in the Bahamas. A furnished apartment is provided along with all meals. The hotel has 10 rooms and a rental villa and is located on approximately 400 acres along with the marina that can hold up to 28 boats. The resort has on on-site dive operation with 2 boats and complete instruction along with daily scuba dives. The Resort has its own airport for the use of guests.
The incoming restaurant managers will be responsible for learning the operation of the office and physical work required in managing the resort with their main focus overseeing the bar and restaurant. Culinary skill and training are a requirement; the 40 seat restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner each day along with hosting several banquets each year.
The reasonability of kitchen organization, food and menu selection along with procurement of supplies will be at the top of the initial priorities for the right applicants. You will be working with local kitchen and hotel staff not only to teach and organize them, but to motivate them to the next level.
Helpful for the applicants would be experience in a fine-dining operation, a familiarity with regional ingredients and a desire to work with Caribbean seafood cuisine. A fine understanding of high guest satisfaction in a service-oriented culinary experience as well as strong inventory, cost control and personnel management skills are essential to handling the many challenges of this remote location.
We are looking for a couple that has the drive and desire to live and work full-time on an isolated island in the Bahamas. From the onsite marina with its complete dive operations to sport fishing the resort offers many challenges to those willing to learn.
The Resort & Marina is a seasonal business so along with the busy times you will have quieter times to get to know the island and its people. Local flavor is an important ingredient in the past and current success of this operation.
