Job Purpose & Scope:
1. To establish and maintain excellence in reservoir simulation for EOR processes along with good technical understanding of EOS characterization, asphaltene characterization and various EOR schemes. Capable of coaching and mentoring UAE nationals and other less experienced reservoir engineers in proper usage of compositional simulators. Main job responsibilities include:
• Screen all the company fields for EOR application, identify the right application and make recommendation to asset teams.
• Use compositional simulation to interpret future EOR pilots as part of an integrated team formed between IOR/EOR and RDD asset teams.
• Screen existing simulators to come up with the proper simulator to be used in compositional modeling of future company EOR project.
• Monitor future company EOR pilots and projects.
2. Participate in developing and managing the company EOR pilots/project initiatives and coordination of multi-function EOR teams. This business includes:
3. Participate and assist advanced PVT and EOR expert in providing RDD and ND asset teams advanced PVT, EOS tuning and EOR technology transfer and training to RDD asset teams and UAE nationals.
Main Duties/Accountabilities:
1. Compositional Simulation
Strong background and proven track record in full field compositional simulation modeling of EOR processes including miscible gas or WAG, chemical flooding and thermal recovery.
2. Reservoir Fluid Characterization:
Implementation of EOS fluid descriptions in a compositional simulator. Good understanding of advanced PVT laboratory work and tuning the EOS fluid descriptions.
3. Hydrocarbon Solids Characterization:
Good understanding of asphaltene desposit physics including laboratory work and interpretation of the data.
4. Equation-of-State Modeling
Solid background in thermodynamics and tuning of equation-of state. Demonstrated skills in application of equation-of-state in describing the reservoir fluid characteristics and phase behavior characteristics as relates to enhanced oil recovery processes (gas injection etc.).
Minimum Requirements:
• B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. In Chemical/Petroleum or Related Engineering.
• 15 years varied experience in the oil industry including good knowledge of computer applications and awareness of budgetary control and procedures.
• Dynamic, self motivated and excellent oral and written communication skills are must. Proficient in working with multi-disciplinary/multi-cultural team environment.
• Proven track record in technology application and transfer to operations.
• Demonstrated ability in coaching and mentoring new hires.
• Fluency in English
