1. City Info
Siheung has marine characteristics in which Wolgot Inlet, famous in Korea, and muddy beaches of the West Sea lying between Oggu Island and Oi Island, and tourist spots known for beautiful sunset. Aside from such characteristics, Siheung is a brisk city with a fast-growing high-tech industry and a great potential for development.
2. Entertainment
-Festival
The Yeonseong Cultural Festival heats up Siheung in October every year.
‘Yeonseong’ is the name given to a lotus flower which was brought in and grown at Gwangokji(208 Hajoong-dong, Siheung city) by Sir Hee-Maeng Kang, the literary man of Joseon period.
Various traditional events of Korea are held brilliantly during the festival.
-Living in a Coastal city
Fishing, digging up clams, and the fresh fish are enjoyed. In the weekends, Oido is packed with visitors.
People who wish to enjoy ocean fishing, and those who are absorbed in digging up clams, as well as the crowd gathering in order to enjoy fresh raw fish are evoking a festive atmosphere every weekend.
3. Benefits and Condition
1) Condition

-Salary: 2.0/2.1/2.3 Korean won per month (depends on Qualification)
-Working hours: 9 a.M. ~ 5 p.M.
-Teaching hours: 22 hours per week

- Accommodation
The Employer shall provide each employee with a place to stay or housing allowance, Employee shall also be offered kitchenware, a washing machine, a refrigerator, a TV, and some basic furniture such as a bed and a table set. Any and all fees, charges, costs, taxes, expenses, etc. Incurred while using the apartment shall be borne by the Employee.
- Airfare
The round trip airfare ticket to Korea shall be reimbursed by the Employer based on an economy class ticket of the most direct flight available from his/her permanent residence to Inchon Airport . In the case of a contract renewal, most direct flight available from Incheon Air port to Employee's home, excluding Korean domestic flights will be provided. If the Employee resigns within the first six months of the current contract, he/she will responsible for returning any airfare paid by the Employer.
- Vacation and Paid Leaves
Paid vacation: seven days per semester(total 14 days) for during school vacation period in July-August and, January-February, plus all National Holidays.
Unpaid vacation: teachers that re-sign after completion of their first contract receive a 14-day paid vacation leaves between contracts
Sick leave: with the approval of your employer, paid sick leave can be arranged under special circumstances if both notice and approval occur before the beginning of such leave and a medical diagnosis justifying such leave is submitted
- Health Insurance and Other Deductions
Income Tax: tax deductions will be made in accordance with Korean law; you can expect your income tax rate to be 3.3% (the tax rate is tied to one's income level)
Pension Fund: you must pay into Korea's national pension fund: 9% of your salary per month (your contribution is 4.5% and your employer matches that with another 4.5%; citizens from certain countries may reclaim this pension payment at the end of their contract; currently only Americans and Canadians)
Medical/Health Insurance: half your monthly fees for Korean National Health Insurance will be paid for by your employer
4. Remuneration and salary level
Payday is on the 25th day of each month (or the immediately preceding
Business day if the 25th is National Holiday or on the weekend)
Settlement allowance: Krw 300,000 (first year only), Severance pay: you will be paid one month's salary as a severance payment if you complete your one-year contract, in accordance with the Labor Standards Act of Korea
Level 1 : 2.3million won per month. In addition to the basic requirements, a Level 1 instructor must have one of the following :
• A Teacher's Certificate, for Elementary or Secondary school, with at least two years of full time teaching experience at accredited institutions
• A Tesol/tefl Certificate comprised of a minimum of 100 course hours with at least two years of full time teaching experience at accredited institutions
• A master's degree with at least two years of full time teaching experience at accredited institutions
Level 2 : 2.1 million per month. In addition to the basic requirements, a Level 2 instructor must have one of the following:
• A Teacher's certificate for Elementary or Secondary School.
• A Tesol/tefl Certificate comprised of a minimum of 100 course hours.
• A master's degree.
• A bachelor's degree with at least one year of full time English teaching experience at accredited institutions

5. Document Requirements and Step of Visa process

4. 2 original copies of sealed and enveloped university transcript that is stamped or signed by university.
5. A clear copy of the information page of your passport
6. Any original or notarized copies of relevant certificates (TEFL,TESL,TESOL,CELTA)
7. An official and original criminal record check
8. An official medical certificate
9. Two passport sized photos
10. Two reference letter with an official letterhead
11. Employment proof of previous or current employment
12. Three signed copies of your employment contract
2) Step of Visa process
Step One: You send us the documents required for your application.
Step Two: We submit your application to the Korean Ministry of Justice (in Korea).
Step Three: Your documents are processed and, after being approved, a Visa Issuance is issued.
Step Four: We let you know the “visa issuance number,” which you must take to the nearest Korean embassy or consulate (along with your passport), so that your E2 visa can be stamped into your passport.
Step Five: Your travel details are arranged, and then…
Step Six: You fly to Korea, are met at the airport, and your life in Korea begins!
Steps One and Four are noteworthy because they involve you providing documents to either us or to the Korean embassy or consulate nearest to you.
