Business Development Analyst
Purpose of Role:
• Reporting to the Solutions Design Manager, you will be required to assist in the preparation of detailed logistics service proposals, cost models and presentations for potential and existing clients which are in line with company’s strategic focus, fully costed and structured in accordance with company’s pricing principles and business ethics.
Responsibilities
• To assist in the development of quality logistics proposals for potential clients by agreeing the scope and timing of the proposal with the client, gathering and analyzing logistic data, applying company’s standard pricing principles to logistics cost base, writing a solution document and assist presenting it to the potential client.
• To liaise with Regional office on all issues relating to proposal development, and supply Regional office at the appropriate time with the completed risk assessment questionnaire, cost model (s), business proposal, CAPEX submissions.
• To develop a strong understanding of financial models, contract budget models and contract budget development, paying particular attention to profitability, payback period, internal rates of return and return on capital employed benchmarks.
• To develop improved methodologies for analyzing client data, which can further improve the effectiveness of the proposal development task, aid prompt client feedback and improve the quality of BD proposals.
• To ensure the smooth handover of successful proposals to Operations at the start of the project implementation phase, and develop an awareness of the issues, which are pertinent to operational implementation.
• To identify and discuss the feasibility of pursuing new business opportunities with specific potential clients with the Business Development Manager.
• To assist the Solutions Design Manager and other Business Development staff with other specific tasks as necessary, which help achieve the overall departmental goals more effectively.
• To collate information for regular department reporting to Regional office, Global office and others as required.

Requirements:
• Bachelors and Master degree specifically business studies, engineering, marketing, logistics or commerce
• Solid understanding and knowledge of Supply Chain Management.
• Understanding of Transportation Systems and Management.
• Awareness of the functionality of Warehousing Management Systems and Management.
• Knowledge of Quality Systems and Procedures.
• Awareness of Financial Modeling, Route Planning/Scheduling

You should aim to find creative logistics solutions to client problems and possess the ability to assist with the preparation of professional proposals. You should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal. |
