Job summary
The job involves planning software development projects, appointing development contractors and managing project execution. The post holder will be the IT coordinator and client focal point for the Center’s outsourced infrastructure management. Ultimate performance measures for the job are the efficiency and efficacy of the Center’s captive breeding and ecological research staff. The Technology Projects Coordinator reports to the Director of the Centre.
Main Responsibilities
• Transfer to an external developer and project manage the completion and long-term maintenance of an in-house Captive Breeding System and of a GIS-based ecological research data management and analysis system.
Understand requirements and current status of system.
Manage the procurement of software developer services.
Project manage the implementation.
Act as focal point between client and contractor during project; e.g. requirements analysis, design approvals and testing.
Coordinate change requests and manage their implementation.
Management of long-term system maintenance/refinement.
• Coordinate IT Infrastructure
Act as IT coordinator/point of contact for outsourced IT infrastructure contractor.
Follow up/quality checking of services provided by infrastructure coordinator
Advise contractor on future plans and changing requirements.
Assist remote support staff with on-site activities in absence of their own staff.
Provide Director with regular status report on Infrastructure outsourcing contract.
Advises and supports senior NARC staff on all matters concerning information and technology.
The post holder will undertake the development of small software projects.
Any other technology-related duties as requested by Director of Centre
