Senior Forester
Basic Requirements
• Age- between 30 - 45 years of age excepts for cases where skills, educational background, work expertise are preferred.
• Educational Background – College Graduate of Forestry
• Familiar with various areas/ fields of forestry such as site assessment and estimation of timber and wood production, site/species matching, fuel wood and indigenous tree species, nursery and field operations of plantation establishment, maintenance and harvest
• Adept with various computer applications and the internet
• Familiarity with GIS/GPS
• Personal Effectiveness – positive attitude in life, pleasant and neat physical appearance, medically fit to work, able to initiate and adaptable
• Has good oral and written English communication skills
• Work Experience – At least 5 to 10 years of experience related to the position, which may be waived if applicant possesses superior experience and skills or good academic background, subject to the approval of management.
• Skilled in driving a 4-wheeled light vehicle
• Willing to relocate to San Carlos City Negros Occidental
• Work starts by January 2008

Job details:
• Conduct site assessments, tree species / site matching, site planning and development
• Manage tree plantation establishment, maintenance, monitoring and evaluation, harvesting
• Conduct extension services to tree farmers
• Seedling production projections and schedules
• Supervise Junior Staff
Responsibilities
• To manage the establishment, maintenance and harvesting of woody biomass tree/energy crop plantations;
• To manage and conduct research into effective utilization of various biomass forms as supplemental fuel for energy production.
• To scope for, assess and estimate woody biomass production potential of tree plantations and to manage the prompt and systematic harvest and delivery of the biomass to an energy facility.
• Prepare budgets, financial projections and proposals for the conduct of the various projects
• Coordinate and document the various details of the conduct of the projects
• Oversee nursery operations, ensure seedling quality and quantity.
