Job Description
To provide mechanical building services design engineering expertise on single and multi disciplinary projects.
Requirements
Degree qualified – minimum requirement of BEng
Minimum 5 years experience working in design of Building Services for Private, Government, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Leisure and Hotel markets.
Experience of mechanical design software – Computer design package E-20, IES Design Suite, Hevacomp
Understanding of British, American and International design standards
Good level of computer literacy in Windows and other Microsoft products
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential
Responsibilities
Mechanical building services engineering design, from concept design through to construction issue and site supervision
Carrying out design calculations on a variety of buildings i.e. residential, commercial, educational, leisure facilities, industrial etc
Design according to local utilities rules, regulations and design guides
Design to British, American and International design standards
Preparing technical specifications
Preparing drawings for drafting by in-house CAD team
Instruct CAD operators in all project related matters and responsible for the checking of all CAD works done
Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers and Electrical Engineers and any other external design consultant
To understand and implement Atkins ME Quality Assurance procedures
Site surveys and inspections
