Objectives:
• Provide safe reliable transportation for passengers along the specified Moose Travel Network routes
• Provide quality guidance, assistance, support and services for passengers
Salary: $100/day, plus commissions
Terms:
• Schedule: 5 days on 2 days off
• 3 days a week in Algonquin Park and 2 days in Niagara Falls
• Accommodation provided for while on route
• Availability: April 15 - October 15, 2008
Start Date: April 2008
Job Requirements
• Must have at least seven years driving experience with a clean driving record
• F Class license (Ontario)/ B4 Class license (Quebec) preferred
• Commit to a full summer season working for Moose. (The season will commence in April and finish in October)
• Travel and/or backpacking experience
• Post Secondary education
• Entrepreneurial spirit
Responsibilities
Driving
• Drive passengers safely along the designated route while meeting strict arrival and departure times
• Ensure all equipment is kept in good, safe working condition
• Maintain appropriate levels of supplies (e.g. - First Aid, fluids)
• Take precautions to protect equipment and supplies from theft and damage
Guidance/Leadership
• Be able to interact on a professional and social level with Moose clients (18-35 ‘s)
• Be team oriented
• Be able to adapt to long working hours
• Be able to deal with, and work under pressure
• Address passenger concerns and issues
• Foster an atmosphere that makes the travel enjoyable for all passengers
• Share “expert” knowledge of Canadiana
• Conduct organized activities such as hikes, canoe trips, group lunches etc.
Administration
• Complete all necessary forms accurately and on a timely basis
• Perform all necessary boarding procedures, safety inspections etc.
• Process all sales and expenses as necessary
Public Relations
• Promote company services through interaction with young travelers
• Ensure hostels have all necessary promotional and sales material available
• Address any issues or concerns from accommodation and adventure operators
