Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Detects inventory issues of Mitsui Americas and its subsidiaries and takes action to solve the problems by contacting and advising the Business Department.
-Ensures that the “lower cost or market” accounting policy is properly followed by Mitsui Americas and its subsidiaries.
-Downloads inventory data from SAP system and produces monthly report of inventory risk status to management of Mitsui USA .
-Makes monthly comparison report of long short position versus limit to the management of Mitsui USA .
-Gathers long short position data on monthly basis from Business Department of Mitsui Americas and its subsidiaries and inputs into reporting system of Mitsui. Communicates PIC to Tokyo regarding long short position operation and follows guidance from Tokyo.
-Provides advice on long short position operation and long short Ringi application to Business Department of Mitsui Americas and its subsidiaries.
-Supports rotational staff in preparing and assessing long short Ringi application.
-Visits warehouses located in U.S. , Canada and Mexico occasionally (once every one or two months) and performs a physical inspection with the Logistics Department of Mitsui USA to check the inventory status.
-Supports rotational staff in preparing for SOX audit by creating manual of processes and procedures.
-Generates and analyzes report on derivatives position of Mitsui USA and its subsidiaries.
-Participates in additional projects as requested by manager |
| Habilidades: |
Required Skills/Competencies
Knowledge Areas:
· General knowledge of all rules and regulations associated with commodity trading, Risk factor of derivative trading and overall Risk control procedures.
· Knowledge of Accounting and Internal Control is highly desirable.
· Understand the meaning of Value at Risk (VaR) and must be able to calculate simple VaR based on the derivatives position passed from back office.
Technical / Communication Skills:
· Excellent Word and Excel skills are required as the position involves extensive reporting.
· Must have excellent math and analytical skills in order to interpret results.
Must have good organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
Should possess the ability to adapt to a cross-cultural environment.
Fluent in both English and Japanese with ability to read and write Japanese at business level.
Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferable.
Three to six (3 – 6) years of business experience overall including two to three (2 – 3) years in Risk Analysis, Accounting or a combination of training and experience that indicates the ability to do the job is required
Financial industry background is a plus.
