Job description: Quality engineer
The Quality Engineer works independently or together with our Purchasing officers and his/her duties consist of the following activities:
• Carry out product and process audit at various suppliers in China.
• Assess and approve samples of purchased components for boilers.
• Follow up and investigation of quality complaints of existing components.
• Monitoring quality level in assembly workshop of subcontractor.
• Start up and monitor various improvement actions at suppliers.
• Give input and advise regarding supplier selection.
• Solve technical problems in cooperation with our technical departments
• Instruction and implementation of quality systems (PPAP)
• Optimise packaging and shipping
• Translation of documents and discussions Chinese – English v.v.
• Communicate all relevant information.
Description of characteristics:
Knowledge:
• Should have a technical background, preferably knowledge on both electronics and mechanical engineering.
• Should have experience with Quality systems such as ISO9000 and/or QS9000, TS16949 and should be able to familiarize him/herself quickly with our quality requirements and procedures.
• Should be able to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Should have a University degree or achieved comparable from working experience.
• Is willing to learn and understand our manufacturing and quality standards and should be able to put these into practise in China.
• Strong communicator, persuasive, flexible and able to work in ever-changing circumstances.
• Must be fluently in Chinese (Mandarin) and English.
Responsibility:
Works independently under the Manager Quality. Will be supported in his/her daily activities by the Manager of our Sales office in Beijing. Determines the priorities in consultation with our other people working in China and the quality engineers in Holland. By the many contacts with our suppliers in China, the Quality Engineer will also be our face in China. He/she should keep good relationships with all parties involved in the business, can make or break the results.
