Drilling Supervisor's Role
• Managing the execution of drilling and work over operations for wells to be drilled and completed by the rig under his supervision, in accordance with defined COMPANY specifications, programs and standards.
• Being the primary COMPANY representative on board the rig contracted to carry out the tasks and operations for the COMPANY
Concept Selection Engineer’s Role
• Presenting selected well design concepts to the Wells Review Board for challenge and endorsement.
• Preparing detailed well designs based on selected conceptual designs. Responsible for all well engineering planning aspects of the well delivery process (Design, Construct, Modify or Abandon wells) up to handover of the drilling program to the well delivery team.
• Generating conceptual well designs in support of the field development plans and asset reference plans such that the Asset’s oil and gas reserves can be explored / developed economically.
• Acting as the well engineering liaison for the Asset.
• Providing well engineering related support to OBO’s (assets Operating By Others)
Drilling Supervisor responsible for:
• Providing continuous, accurate information to the Well Execution Team Leader on any aspect of the continuous twenty-four (24) hours per day rig operation (i.e. processes, cost, HSE, current activities, look-a-heads, etc).
• Safe guarding the COMPANY's assets and interests (e.g. platform, wells, materials and equipment).
• Verifying that all contractors adhere to and are fully aware of the COMPANY's HSE policies, well control policies and procedures.
• Taking complete charge of the operation when significant problems have been encountered, and otherwise to provide guidance and assistance to the contractor's staff(s) to overcome the problems that have arisen or expedite operations.
• Accurately forecasting and scheduling of equipment, materials and services requirement to optimize utilization of resources entrusted to him and to ensure that all relevant operations are run in the most economic and safe manner.
• Ensuring that the environment is protected at all times during the rig operations. To prevent pollution or other damage, which may result in future from present operation or immediate harm to the natural environment in which, we operate.
• Ensuring that all relevant well data is completed and accurately recorded in a timely fashion. Verifying and signing off job tickets for work performed at the well site.
• Taking part and/or leading in incident investigations as and when required.
Concept Selection Engineer responsible for:
• Preparing of conceptual well designs and options.
• Preparing of the input into detailed drilling proposals, budgets and value assurance reviews.
• Capturing, initiating & implementing new Well Engineering technological opportunities in
• COMPANY’s gas and oil filed development plans.
• Providing support to all global, regional and Malaysian Drilling performance improvement initiatives and to facilitating learning’s / technology transfer to Asset team members on areas critical to the business.
• Providing well engineering input into field development plans (FDPs), asset reference plans (ARPs) and detailed drilling programmes.
• Identifying of non-routine long lead material requirements for projects.
• Participating actively in the discussions for the drilling sequence and integrated activity planning.
• Optimizing well designs and incorporating new technology challenges into well designs. All field developments are different and each requires innovative and novel techniques to be able obtain breakthrough performance and economical projects.

| Habilidades: |
Qualifications
• Diploma in Engineering (HND or equivalent) from a recognized institution
• Must have more than 15 years of working experience in Well Engineering with at least 8 years in the capacity as an offshore drilling supervisor for Major International Oil Companies, including 2 years of the last 4 years.
• Must be in possession of a valid International Well Control Forum (IWCF) certificate at supervisory level of combined Surface and Subsea BOP Stack.
• Familiar with Well Engineering drilling operational knowledge, Performance Improvement concept, well control aspects and management of emergency situations.
• Ability to stay alert for long periods (24 hours operations), take quick decisions and act on them appropriately.
• Must be PC literate and skilled user of MS-Office suite of programs and other relevant softwares.
• Must have valid medical, offshore survival/HUET certification from Oil & Gas approved institution.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• To possess effective communication, interpersonal and leadership/influencing skills.
Additional Comments:
• Strong HSE leadership ability and good understanding of the Well Engineering interface issues in a multi-disciplinary environment will be highly beneficial.
• Must strive to avoid potential difficulties by predicting and understanding the downhole conditions and applying the appropriate technique. In the event of operational problem, he must be able to identify the root cause and initiate corrective action.
• To ensure that the Drilling Contractor conducts all aspects of the rig operation, in accordance with Company's policies, standard, procedure and guideline on both Technical and HSE aspects.
• Train and motivate Junior Well Engineer assigned to his rig.
• Must be prepared to report for duty starting from May 2008 upon call off with 10 days of hiring and off hiring notice. Each call off with no guarantee of minimum utilisation.
• Must be able to manage and prioritise work, in co-ordination with other disciplines, to meet commercial and business objectives.
• Able to think innovatively and possesses the ability to capture best practices
