Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Part Time weekend evenings
12 Noon - 12 Midnight, 2 -12 hr shifts. Benefit Package eligibility.
Qualifications
-Current Maryland RN license
-CPR/BLS certification
-Specialty specific certification: ACLS & PALS
Preferred:
-At least 1 yr. Current ED nursing experience
Responsibilities
- Renders professional nursing care to all patients within the Emergency Department.
-Collaborates with members of the healthcare team.
-Delegates appropriately to support staff.
-Directs the patient's care to ensure care needs are satisfied.
-Maintains current standards of practice through ongoing education

Provides nursing orientation, including:
-Basic nursing orientation
-Agency orientation
-International nurse orientation
-Nursing instructors
Note: not applicable to Education Specialist, Critical Care
Collaborates with nursing leadership on program content.
Evaluates effectiveness of the instructors and information provided.
Communicates student's performance and attendance to departmental leadership.
Coordinates nursing internships within area(s) of specialty.
Provides leadership and strategic direction for program development, implementation, and evaluation.
-Collaborates with nursing leadership and external resources on program content and schedule.
-Demonstrates expertise in curriculum planning and development.
Participates as lecturer on topics within scope of expertise.
-Demonstrates expertise in methods and tools of instruction.
-Demonstrates application of adult learning theory.
Collaborates with nursing leadership on assessing the intern's progress, preceptor's abilities and feedback, and makes recommendations for any modifications.
Provides for competency training.
Collaborates with nursing leadership in development and implementation of the annual competency plans.
Coordinates and schedules training and skill demonstration sessions, including:
-Skills days
-New equipment support
Assists in preparing competency materials.
Evaluates program effectiveness.
Coordinates specialty certification preparation.
Collaborates with nursing leadership in identifying key certifications.
Provides support for certification preparation, which might include:
-Speakers
-Computer assisted learning
-Study groups
