Job Title: Senior Resident Electrical Engineer

Qualifications:
• Member of CIBSE or equivalent institution.
• Relevant Engineering Degree (Bachelors / Masters)
• Minimum of 15 years experience, must include some high rise.
Job Purpose:
Based on site this role will provide high level technical and residential engineering services to the construction of the Landmark in Abu Dhabi.
The Landmark project comprises a 324 m high tower surrounded at its base by 4 storeys of office/retail/lobby space external to the main tower footprint. All of which sit over 5 levels of basement car parking.
The basement structure extends across the full width of the site and beneath the adjacent old corniche road running parallel to the site. Above the ground level the tower rises upwards from the middle of the site and over the first 4 stories additional floor space extends beyond the main tower footprint. These additional areas beyond the tower footprint, along with the first 5 stories of the main tower, are a mixture of Lobby, Retail and Office space. Above the office level is the first of 4 mechanical areas in the building each of witch comprises several levels of mechanical plant. This level also forms the springing point for two large canopies on either side the building which extend over the office spaces below. Above this level there are then 25 residential storeys before a health Club level and the second mechanical area. Above the mid-mechanical level are further 26 residential storeys. There are then two restaurants levels followed by a third mechanical level. At the top of the tower is a sky garden enclosed by a glazed wall with 3 mechanical levels in the centre.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and monitor work schedule for Assistant Structural Engineers and Engineering Inspectors.
• Review and approve structural shop drawings and engineering material submissions.
• Respond to contractors technical queries.
• Liaise with the Buro Happold regional office.
• Implement site quality assurance programme for structural and civil works.
• Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
• Ensuring all relevant BH staff are informed of client matters.
• Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc.
