The Academy for Educational Development (AED) is currently looking for Mathematics Content Specialists with experience at the primary, preparatory, and/or secondary school levels to be part of the expanding school reform effort in Qatar.
This position is located in doha, qatar!
The Math Content Specialist provides daily technical assistance in both content and pedagogy to the Math teachers in one school while providing a supportive environment for school change to occur. As a subject expert, the Math Content Specialist will work closely with the Math teachers on all major components of curriculum development, standards implementation, teacher quality through daily mentoring and coaching and ongoing assessment and professional development.

This position begins March 2008 and will end June 2009.
The Math Content Specialist will work as part of a team which includes an English Specialist, Science Specialist, School Management Advisor, and a translator.
Salary Range: (USD) $50,000 to $70,000 |

Requirements:
Qualified candidates must have the have the following experience:
- Senior level academic training in a field related to education or mathematics
- At least five years of experience in improving basic education
- Experience with primary, preparatory, and/or secondary levels mathematics
- At least five years teaching experience required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong team building skills
- Demonstrated excellence in presentation skills and the design and delivery of teacher professional development
- Ability and interest in relocating to Doha, Qatar on short notice
- Demonstration of cultural awareness necessary
- Due to the donor contract, only female candidates can be considered. |
