A leading 5 Star deluxe International Hotel Chain is looking for a Training Manager with opening experience to join their team in the Maldives.
Responsible for the supervision of the Training Department; Conducts, oversees and participates in the training activities of the resort; Creates or Design customized training programs according to training needs and follows through all actions required by Training Department staff; Verifies and signs all external training requests; Be well versed with Chain’s pre-opening processes and focus on planning for a smooth opening by ensuring all staff has gone through all necessary trainings; Work closely with other managers to identify training needs and design an overall training plan to meet the identified needs.
To ensure that training needs analysis is conducted in a timely manner; To ensure that Overall Resort Annual training plan is in place according to the training needs identified and produce a monthly training calendar; Conducts monthly orientation for new staff, Introduces Hotel group, Vision, Mission, Philosophy, Guiding Principles, Care and other core service skills and knowledge trainings; Monitors training activities, training budgets and generates reports accordingly; Design or Create training materials for in-house training as per training needs and work with training providers to develop suitable course content; Evaluates success of trainings activities, staff developments and make recommendations accordingly to the management; Take ownership of areas / equipments like projector, Audio/video equipments, training room and ensure that all are maintained up to the best possible standards at all times; Maintains updated files of external and internal trainings, inventory of trainers, DDI records, TNA, Monthly Training Forecast, and Monthly Training Summary, among others.
Assists the DoHR in administering HR policies and procedures, as well as in coaching, implementation, review, recording and communications related to all HR procedures, programs and activities; Oversees library operations, ensuring loaning out procedures are implemented and there is periodic publication of library materials available for staff use; Managing regular staff appraisals and reviews and ensuring staff have opportunities for ongoing development.
Minimum 2 - 3 years experience as Training Manager with an international chain; Prior experience of having worked in a pre-opening of a Five-star hotel / resort in an island scenario; Thorough understanding of adult learning, learning curve, training deliveries and training evaluations; Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting training activities.
Analytical capabilities and computer literate (MS Office – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
People management skills and ability to guide, motive staff and develop competency of team; Excellent communication skills in English language (spoken & written); Resourceful, good interpersonal skills and enjoys working with people; Must have the experience and the proven ability working within a multicultural environment. Single status preferred.
Remuneration: Package based on experience & background.
