Applications are invited for Power Electronics Engineers to join our clients Engineering teams based in Rugby or Kidsgrove. The purpose of these roles is to specify, design and document power electronics hardware and software developments, working within a team of multi-skilled engineers to deliver development projects to the business, using computer simulation, specification, design and calculation tools. Responsible for estimating and planning of work to ensure budgets and timescales are met. You will liaise with other units, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors and provide technical advice and assistance to the application engineering and sales teams.
Power Electronics Hardware Engineers will be involved in design of low or medium voltage power electronic systems, including electrical design, selection of components, cubicle layout, electromechanical packaging, and cooling systems

| Habilidades: |
ESSENTIAL Previous/current experience -:
Electronic design of a power converter for any application AC-DC and/or DC/AC
Good understanding of power semiconductor devices technology.
DESIRABLE:
Understanding of IGBT or thyristor based drives
Good understanding of electric machine including an induction motor and PM motor
Exposure to high power systems design i.E. Switching HV power using semiconductor components
Knowledge of control systems in particular drives
Experience of using simulation tools, such as Matlat Simulink, Pspice
Experience of real time control systems
You will be educated to degree level in electrical and electronic engineering and will have between 5 and 10 years experience in an engineering, design, testing, and commissioning or research environment. In addition experience of drive train and/or power system design, control systems, Drive, PLC, or simulation programming is advantageous.
