Applications are invited for a Senior Design Engineer within the Electrical Machines Manufacturing Unit. The overall purpose of the role will be the responsibility for the design of all types of excitation, synchronising and protection equipment for synchronous motors and generators, for both general industry and the utilities.
Main duties and responsibilities are to:
Be responsible for the project engineering, tendering, development and testing activities associated with excitation control systems.
Set up, test and occasionally commission of analogue and digital control systems.
Be responsible for technical liaison with both suppliers and customers.
Provide provision of technical advice and investigations in support of factory, site or warranty issues.

| Habilidades: |
With a background in power electronics and small signal electronics (including closed loop control) successful applicants will be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the design and application of excitation systems, preferably including static and digital systems.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will have a flexible, proactive approach to your work, and be willing to take on new skills.
This position will occasionally involve commissioning work, investigation or Sales support, and will require travel within the UK and abroad. A UK driving licence is considered necessary.
