Material Control Specialist
The Material Control Specialist reports to the Chief Construction Engineer and performs the following functions:
1. Supervises the material control functions to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
2. Chairs the material status portion of the weekly progress meeting with the subcontractor.
3. Responsible for material documentation and distribution to proper parties.
4. Prepares for issuance all reports, logs, etc., relating to materials delivery status/availability to Client and Contractors.
5. Ensures that all material documents comply with Client procedures.
6. Supervises the receiving, physical check, and count and inspection of all non-contractor supplied materials and equipment delivered to the jobsite.
7. Monitors incoming freight on common carrier shipments and the delivery packing papers for shipments arriving at the jobsite.
8. Monitors direct craft labor assigned to the offloading and storage of materials and equipment as they are received at the jobsite.
9. Monitors preparation of material receiving reports (MRRs); overages, shortages, and damage reports (OS&D); returnable reels, containers, and cylinder reports, field material status reports, and other pertinent field material control reports. Requests inspections by discipline inspectors or engineers when required. Maintains files of project oriented material reports and documentation.
