Manufacturing and Distribution is responsible for the distribution of physical and electronic product to Oracle’s customers worldwide. Business Operations is responsible for controlling the accuracy and integrity of Manufacturing and Distribution’s (M&D) financial information. Providing operations management support, Business Operations assists all M&D areas in fulfilling their core functions.
Brief Posting Description
The Financial analyst / Cost Accountant supports the Manufacturing and Distribution department, a global organization in Oracle. This role primary deals with aspects of Managerial Accounting. Activities include cost accounting, finance policy creation and enforcement, participation in annual budget creation, ad-hoc analysis and ensuring the overall integrity of department’s financial information.
Detailed Description
As a member of Oracle's finance organization, you will be responsible for providing all aspects of financial support for planning and control. Assist in consolidation and reporting of financial results; preparation of annual budget. Gather, model, analyze, prepare, and summarize information for financial plans, operating forecasts, trended future requirements, etc.; on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. Prepare recommendations based on analyzes. Conduct expense analysis, headcount and headcount driven expense analysis at cost center level and ad-hoc analysis as required. You may participate in cross-functional programs and projects. Perform the monthly close and Prepare the finance package to executive management on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Responsibilities
Support the Manufacturing and Distribution organization worldwide
Prepare budget and forecast
Close monthly account records, including reconciling, researching discrepancies through investigation, and ad-hoc reporting
Ensure the accuracy of all inventory accounting; perform ongoing audits of activity
Prepare financial reports for upper management to review; conduct cost-benefit analysis on potential changes to supply-chain
Conduct quantitative research to identify opportunities for improvement
Produce and analyze key indicators of department performance
Recommend and implement policy/process changes
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
• Webpage creation (Dreamweaver, html, Wiki)
• Crystal Ball
• Completion of basic Finance and accounting courses desired
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel
• Effective time management and multi-tasking
