Introduction: A US company that imports natural stone has an immediate need for an individual that speaks excellent English and native Spanish to inspect and report on one of their suppliers, a stone quarry near Lima, Peru. The employer will provide basic training, but common sense, and an ability to solve problems with very little management direction is required. The successful candidate will travel to the quarry and write up survey reports explaining the deposits, quarrying methods, capacity, block sizes, material characteristics, coloration, patterns, etc. He/she must also be able to work with people diplomatically, and have a strong enough personality to influence without direct authority.
The successful candidate will also have the following:
1) A flexible schedule. A University student would make a good candidate.
2) Ability to travel frequently and/or live near the stone quarry
3) An ability to communicate clearly in English (written and oral).
4) Ability to speak native Spanish is required, and an ability to speak the local dialect (?) a plus.
5) Must have basic computer skills, and full access to a computer. Basic computer skills = Ability to use the Internet, simple applications, and MS Office products.
6) Having experience in the stone industry is not required, but will be a significant advantage.
