Our client is a recognized leader in the global life reinsurance industry serving clients in more than 45 countries. Our client delivers expert solutions in life reinsurance, risk management, facultative underwriting, product development, and capital-motivated reinsurance services.
The Vice President, Valuation & Financial Analysis will lead, manage, direct and oversee all valuation and financial actuarial items, processes and related analytical items. This person will also be the Appointed Actuary for the company and other company subsidiaries.
The Vice President, Valuation & Financial Analysis will provide oversight and guidance of employment decisions including, but not limited to, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining direct reports.
This position will also:
• Oversee and direct monthly and quarterly Statutory, GAAP, and tax valuation processes
• Oversee and direct preparation and maintenance of Actuarial Memoranda
• Provide critical input with respect to the establishment of unbiased financial plans and communication of financial results in terms of major sources of variance
• Provide support for acquisition opportunities
• Oversee and direct compliance-related actuarial reporting and analysis
• Manage valuation department, function and associates
• Partner with business units and other corporate areas to review and implement valuation and reporting processes for new transactions
• Assist with the definition and implementation of enhanced management information metrics, including Source of Earnings, Economic Capital, and Embedded Value-type measures
• Provide support for Capital planning and related initiatives, such as securitization
• Maintain awareness of relevant changes in actuarial requirements and risk mitigation techniques for reinsurance structures and underlying products

| Habilidades: |
Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related field.
• Fellowship, Society of Actuaries (FSA)
• Member, American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
• 10-15 years experience in life or health insurance or reinsurance.
• 5 years experience in financial reporting and/or related analytical role involving mortality and/or morbidity based products (GAAP, Stat, Tax)
• Qualified to sign Public Statement of Actuarial Opinion
• Appointed Actuary Experience
• Broad Understanding of Reinsurance product designs, pricing, administrative, accounting, and valuation requirements
• Understanding of the bases behind assumptions driving reinsurance pricing and valuation
• Solid PC skills and understanding of actuarial systems – including spreadsheet, database, AXIS/TAS (or equivalent actuarial projection tools)
• Strong actuarial technical skills and an ability to detect and explain sources of variation from expectations in terms of key drivers
• Ability to orchestrate, interacts, and work with broad array of professionals – including accounting, actuarial, systems, administrative.
