Our client is a privately held, family owned and operated company. They are a major grower, packer, distributor, and exporter supplying the retail, food service, canning and frozen food manufacturing industries nationally and internationally. The company has experienced tremendous growth and now occupies six production facilities throughout the United States.
They seek a Maintenance Manager for their City of Industry facility which responsibilities include:
To assist the Director of Operations in all functional and operations activities in plant maintenance, which include troubleshooting, repairs and supervision of all subordinate maintenance staff.
Essential Functions / Duties:
1. Makes daily work assignments for staff maintenance personnel, including electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs
2. Reports directly to Director of Operations on any and all maintenance concerns, including repairs, personnel needs, parts, supplies and chemicals.
3. Reviews and implements all mechanical specifications and operational manual to make certain they’re up-to-date and applicable to company machinery.
4. Works with outside regulating agency inspectors and the Director of Operations. Responsible for correcting any aspects of maintenance that are sited by inspection.
5. Stays abreast of all technological advancements and developments in the plant maintenance field and makes certain that all maintenance personnel are aware of latest changes.
6. Confers with operators, observes tests and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.
7. Disassembles machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
8. Examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
9. Repairs, replaces, and adjusts and aligns components of machinery and equipment.
10. Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment and machinery.
11. Test-runs repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
12. Fabricates replacement parts.
13. Welds to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
14. Orders or requisitions parts and materials.
15. Repairs and replaces electrical wiring and components of machinery.
16. Enters codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
17. Records repairs and maintenance performed.
18. Must have operational knowledge of all equipment and machinery, including: pumps, fans, pneumatic controls and all other company machines.
19. Responsible for preventative maintenance for all plant equipment and maintaining PC based maintenance software.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Minimum Education: Must have a high school diploma (or G.E.D.) and ideally, a trade school diploma.
Minimum Experience: 5-7 years experience in maintenance.
Skills Required: Excellent communication skills, administrative abilities, problem solving, and team player, working knowledge of math, multi-tasked, able to handle pressure, attentive and responsive. Basic knowledge of safety codes and regulations.

Equipment: Maintains and repairs mechanical equipment. Inspects equipment, structures or material.
