Senior Database Administrator(remuneration Qr 18,000 + housing and other benefits)
Reports to: Sr. Systems Engineer

1. Basic Function:
The Senior Database Administrator oversees all aspects of database work for the Co and its associates with special focus on ERP applications.

In addition, this person will undertake any IT related work collaboratively on common data projects with Development with the Information Technology staff.

This person will lead the efforts to capture, organize, use and analyze constituent data to achieve department and organizational objectives with special focus on Oracle E-Business Suite R12 ERP applications..

2. Duties Performed:
A. Serves as lead point of contact on the Data Warehouse project and takes charge of all aspects of ERP database and applications management.
B. Continually builds and refines the organization`s understanding of its constituents, including collaborative works with other members of the organization to develop strategies for leveraging constituent data to advance the work of the organization.
C. Collaborates on maintenance and development of national office advocacy systems, particularly the Data Warehouse and ERP applications.
D. Serves as team leader for organization`s efforts to understand its constituent data by guiding analysis and segmentation efforts.
E. Champion the acquisition, implementation, training and adoption of processes and technologies for effective constituent relationship management for all levels of staff according to standard Information Technology policies and practices.
F. Takes lead on all augmentation / clean up of existing data sources and ensures constituent data is fresh, current and as enhanced as possible to ensure the most effective use of all the information available.
G. Develops the specifications for standard reports and files the organization needs and works with the internal and external resources to implement.
H. Serves as a team member on strategic planning efforts as `guru` on constituent data.
I. Serves as the replacement for Database Administrator while he/she is away from office.
J. Manage and monitory database, applications on daily basis to assure the consistency and the availability of the application

K. Maintain and administrate application users according to the company policies and procedures.

L. Manage Oracle Database RAC nodes, assure the integrity of RAC’s OCR, monitoring the heartbeat activities

M. Coordinate with the application team for any migration, compilation, patching projects.

N. Implement periodic maintenance plans, critical patch updates and point release upgrades

O. Participates in the monitoring, tuning and reorganizing of databases along with the application team

P. Administrate, manage, and monitor the database backups (hot and cold backups) with coordination with Sr. Systems Engineer and Database Administrator

Q. Manage the application migration and cloning procedures from testing environment to production environment.

R. Ensures the efficient allocation of databases storage, maintain the flash recovery area, obsolete & invalid backups, manage the backup rotation and retention according to the backup policy.

S. Maintain the RMAN scripts, restore periodic backup on dummy system to ensure the backup integrity.

T. Manage and maintain OEM repository and manage repository periodic backup

U. Administrate Oracle Data Guard and ensure the synchronization process between production environment and disaster recovery environment.

V. Maintain Oracle application and database security including data encryption, security logs, audit trail
W. Helps Database Administrator in advanced administration, troubleshooting and decision making


3. Work Contacts:

Frequent contacts with employees at own or next higher level in Information Technology to design/implement work. Works closely with Sr. Systems Analysts, to provide environment for system development, testing and help in the implementing new systems. Works closely with IT Operations unit to provide infrastructure assessment for applications and databases. Works with IT Management to develop ideas and trends and translate them to solutions. Contacts with the contractor/Supplier/Vendor for RDBMS, ERP and other applications.
4. Independence of Operation:

Determines work method from alternatives methods according to established policies, database methodology and professional computer standards. Completed work is subject to subsequent review.
8. Minimum Requirements:

A. Education: Bachelor`s Degree, plus additional related college courses or professional training
B. Minimum 8 years of experience in Oracle database administration with at least 3 years in administering Oracle E-Business Suite
C. Must be Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
D. Very Good written and verbal skills; Proven ability of working in a team environment and in leading virtual teams.
Very strong skills in:
E. Administering Oracle E-Business Suite R12 ERP Applications
F. Business use of database technologies, including coding structures and reports
Data analysis and modeling.
G. Designing and implementing business processes for capturing and using constituent information
H. Experience with the use of data mining and analysis tools such as Business Objects is a plus;
I. Background experience or knowledge of reproductive health issues helpful;
J. Advanced problem solving skills essential;
K. Excellent time management required and an ability to stay calm in a somewhat hectic environment;
L. Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences is required.
M. Network administration knowledge (TCP/IP, load balancing, clustering, Ethernet, Fiber Channel)
