Karaikal Port is a Green Field Port Project awarded to Develop and Operate for 30 years under BOT model by the Government of Puducherry. The development of Karaikal Port is being carried out by Karaikal Port Private Ltd, a Special Purpose Company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Marg Limited. As a component of the port development, Karaikal Port Private Ltd has purchased a dredger and is now looking for a Visioneer to head up this exciting dredging vertical.
To continue our forward planning, we are in need of a Business Head – Dredging to lead and grow this dynamic business. Reporting to the Executive Director of Ports, and with a strong background in the dredging business, the successful applicant for this position will be a Visioneer who is able to develop a new business venture into a flourishing profit centre through:
• Suitable marketing of service offerings to prospective clients
• Development of RFP’s
• Development and submission of tenders and bid proposals
• Creation of profitable Joint Venture partnerships internationally
• Development and maintenance of client relationships
• Procurement based on current and projected requirements
• Strong financial management and commitment to time scales
• Adherence to Best Practice Health and Safety
• Recruiting, selecting and retaining a team of go-getters through best practice HRM
• Management and monitoring of team performance against set targets
• Training, advising, motivating and providing direction to team members where appropriate
The successful candidate will ideally have previously managed a dredging company and will have a degree in Marine Engineering or Civil Engineering. You will also require a thorough background in:
• Dredging or Marine Construction
• Project Management and Tracking especially dredging projects
• Financial planning, costing analysis and control
• Procurement
• Scheduling
• Best Practice Occupational Health, Safety and welfare
• Environmental Best Practice
