Job Description
Our client is the largest engineering consultancy in the UK, the largest multidisciplinary consultancy in Europe and the world’s fifth largest design firm. The Doha office is currently working on the several projects involving the provision of Primary Infrastructure for large scale, high profile projects. Design includes roads, water, irrigation, foul and storm networks and associated pumping stations and control systems.
In addition to progressing design works, there is a need for an individual to take the lead role in the liaison with local authorities, plot developers and other third parties. This will be a demanding role that requires significant organisational skills and good, clear, confident communication skills.
Requirements
BSc. Civil Engineering Degree
Essential attributes will be
5 years industry experience from a consultancy
Knowledge of the design. Operation and maintenance involved in Highways and Roads networks
Experience in the detailed design of Highways and Roads schemes, including preparation of relevant specifications
Report preparation and presentation skills
Working knowledge of relevant design software packages and relevant design standards.
Excellent written and spoken English
Excellent organisational skills
UK or European experience required
Desirable attributes will be
Project management experience
Commercial awareness
MSc in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, numeric subject or equivalent
Responsibilities
* Support in the project management of concept and detailed design of highways, roads and pimary infrastructure schemes.
* Assist in the technical review of highways and roads scheme design, typically undertaken using both calculations and recognised industry software.
* Assist in the review of detailed drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
* Management of project Quality Control systems.
* Liaison with Approval Authorities and third parties.
* Assistance with tender preparation
