Role Description:
As their IT Director, your primary responsibility is to oversee the streamlined operation of the
IT department and to ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the organization. Your
principal goals will be to develop and manage trading applications for each department and
sustain the IT infrastructure. Using your extensive IT management experience, you will oversee
all areas of IT including networking, telephony, strategy and planning, internal systems, internal
operations and talent development. In this role, you are responsible for planning, coordinating,
directing and designing all operational activities of the IT department, as well as providing
direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations.
As IT Director, you will work closely with decision makers in other departments and
senior management to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective
technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. You are responsible for developing
business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
Furthermore, you will develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those
for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision.
Additionally, you are responsible for the technology infrastructure for our remote offices as
well as the interconnection of technology between all offices.
Role Competencies:
• As their ideal candidate, you will possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science,
information management systems, or a related field, plus at least 10 years of experience
in information technology positions of progressive responsibility, including at least five years
of experience managing IT staff.
• The ideal candidate will have a solid IT/Finance blend of skills with strong financial and
derivatives modeling experience as well as significant experience working with Java and
math lab.
• You will have demonstrated project management skills with simultaneous implementation
of various technological solutions (hardware, software, network) and database systems.
• You will be experienced in development, architecture, design and implementation of trading
solutions, and have experience developing and implementing both common solutions and
custom software systems.
• You will be adept at applying your strong analytical abilities to solve both business and
technical problems. Additionally, you will have demonstrated the ability to effectively organize
staff.
• The job requires the ability to interact with and relate to a wide variety of management and
other employees.
• You will demonstrate excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively
communicate to all levels within the company.
• You will need the ability to process complex time sensitive data and information from
multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and effectively communicate the
related required actions to the CEO.
• The job requires the ability to plan and manage projects and provide leadership to
accomplish project goals, as well as good organizational skills and the ability to complete
multiple complex tasks in a timely fashion.
• The job requires the incumbent to be self-motivated to independently work to complete
multiple projects/tasks in a timely and accurate fashion. In addition, the position requires
the ability to be creative and to adapt processes and approaches to specific situations.
