Job description
Position Title: Laboratory technician
Main objective
Main duties and responsibilities
Under general supervision, performs operational support tasks for the daily work flow in the laboratory like preparing of media and record keeping, carries out microbiological and chemical analysis.
Maintains a clean working environment in the laboratory. •preparation of reagents and media used in testing according to written instructions (incl. sterilization and dispensing into proper receptacles)
• receiving and preparation of samples
• Follows written procedures or methods and utilizes aseptic technique to perform tests
• Reading of analytical results and preparation of laboratory reports
• Maintains accurate data records
• Prepare according to the client contracts the monthly sampling plan
• preparation of sample collection according to sampling plan (incl. of logging each sample into log book with unique sample ID)
• Input sample information from sample collection paper into computer
• Operates basic laboratory equipment
• Daily/weekly calibration of laboratory equipment if needed
• Stock count every 6 month

Required Education:
• Technical or University degree in laboratory or civil or soil engineering
• Computer literate
• knowledge of basic laboratory techniques
Professional skills
• ability to follow formulas/ methods/ instructions accurately
• ability to work under pressure and independent
• Close attention to detail is essential
• capable of producing accurate results under time constraints
• multi-tasking
• organization skills
