Job Description:
The person in this position will reside in Mexico and will be responsible for planning, directing and meeting short and long term objectives of our company owned off-shore manufacturing facilities. This person will work closely with and take direction from the Vice-President of Off-Shore manufacturing and be responsible for the execution of the manufacturing strategy for owned Mexico operations. Responsibilities also include educating and mentoring Mexican nationals with the intent of creating a fully functional operation with off-site support being drawn from the US. This role includes proactively addressing and executing turnover reduction plans while identifying and implementing plans to support any training needs internal to the off-shore operations. This candidate will be a self starter with a passion for directing and coordinating overall manufacturing activities and ensuring profits through management of operating budgets, resources and plans established via experience, knowledge and vision.
Responsibilities:
Help Identify, develop, execute, and maintain an appropriate off-shore manufacturing strategy to support the company’s strategic direction and optimize profitability.
Direct the activities of all assigned manufacturing facilities to ensure that production goals at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements are achieved.
Plan and manage the off-shore manufacturing budget process ensuring accuracy, analysis, and accountability, while meeting budget to actual goals.
Develop the leadership skills through the expectation and goal setting of , managers, and other key personnel, following up on expectations to ensure appropriate results. This includes developing and successfully implementing a plan for developing a successor within a two year timeframe.
Advise the Vice President of Off-Shore Manufacturing on all aspects of operations including any issues that may affect the success of the off-shore operations. Include any recommendations that may be needed to address outstanding issues.
In conjunction with the V.P. of Off-Shore Manufacturing, prepare and present documentation for off-shore operations to be used to help support the Corporate Balanced Scorecard process and initiatives.
In addition, a report and presentation will be needed for the regular fulfillment process head meetings.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors Degree, specifically in management/business or related field, and/or equivalent experience required.
Experience:
Ten plus years experience as a manager in a plant environment, preferably apparel.
Bilingual in English & Spanish – written and spoken
Previous experience working in an off-shore capacity preferred, specifically in Mexico.
Proven ability to lead and set a motivating environment for employees/teams. Understanding of the internal customer is mandatory.
Ability to work with peers, subordinates, and management in a team focused environment.
Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate appropriately.
Ability to maintain objectivity and composure in difficult situations is a must.
Proven ability in the analysis of problems and problem resolution.
Well-developed administrative, leadership and communication skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to remain current on any industry wide trends and willing to participate in any relevant committees and organizations related to the apparel industry.
Ability to work outside of the United States for long periods of time required
Working conditions:
Plant environment.
Some lifting may be necessary (5-20 lb).
Travel required between facilities (approx. 50%).
