This position is for certified teachers only. There are 3 openings for an elementary school teacher. The working hours are from 9:30 to 5:35, Monday through Friday. However, the teacher will only teach one class a day for 1.5 hours. When the teacher is not teaching, he/she is expected to be preparing and grading tests, lesson plans, etc.
The school is a private school in Taiwan with over 2,000 students. There are a total of 17 "foreign" teachers. According to Taiwanese law, only nationals from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and South African can apply for this position.
Salary is NT$55,000/mo. (~US$1,750) Medical and dental insurance are provided. Dormitory housing for ~US$30/mo. is also provided. When you take into account the salary, low living expenses and added bonuses, this is a hard deal to beat.
We will also be giving all of our teachers a 30 hou TESOL course from the oldest and biggest private teachers association in Taiwan. Additionally, we will be providing free Chinese classes for all of our teachers. |
