The Market Analyst will support the Market Research Manager who is responsible for the market research and strategic market intelligence of Shaw’s Energy and Chemicals division.
The Market Research function is responsible for gathering, organizing, distributing and maintaining the data and providing critical analysis in order to provide strategic assessments of the competitive environment, trends, current performance and market opportunities.
They provide planning and developmental support to the Sales teams based upon the E&C business plan. They will develop the key actions and activities necessary to bring the plan to life within the target sectors, while supporting the formulation and execution of the business strategy.
The Market Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of Market Research & Strategic Planning.
Daily general duties shall include;
• Reviewing periodicals, journals and website for information relating to Shaw E&C’s clients, competitors and projects we are following.
• Log and file research
• Compile relevant news stories for circulation to management on a weekly basis
• Undertake ad-hoc research projects on various topics
Attributes and Education
Applicants should possess a degree at 2:1 or higher.
The applicant should have 1-3 years experience in the oil and gas industry and be conversant with technical terminology.
They should possess good math skills and be fluent in English.
Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The applicant will need effective interpersonal and communication skills, good attention to detail, enjoy problem solving and be able to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
