Your role will be to operate the Drilling Equipment and other duties include, related directional drilling, running and cementing casting strings, well testing. Day to day duties will include monitoring the condition of the well, recording the process and informing appropriate members of staff of any issues or problems that may arise. Supervising all drill crew work activities and completing appropriate drilling documentation to the satisfaction of the client and company management. You will maintain compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
You will have a minimum of three years drilling experience and have experience working on Rigs. You will have all relevant safety and survival certificates and well control certificate or equivalent.
The Driller is responsible for operation of drilling machinery and equipment including the circulating system. Directs drilling crew and assures optimum drilling process.
Must be reliable, hard working and sensitive to other cultures. Experience working in other countries would be seen as a positive.
Tasks And Responsibilities:
* Assisting during the running and retrieving of marine risers and BOP stack.
* Assisting with well development and pumping tests
* Assisting specialized contractors during wireline operations, coring, cementing and well testing.
* Completing the IADC daily drilling report at the end of each tour.
* Conducting pit drills for crew training once a tour.
* Conducting a flow check on every connection
* Controlling operation of well control equipment.
* Controlling power to the drill pipe tongs used to tighten or break loose pipe connection joints.
* Directing rig crew in setting up rigs and drilling, completing or servicing oil and gas exploration and producing wells.
* Ensuring the solid control equipment and mud mixing operations are being monitored constantly.
* Holding pre-job meeting with the drilling crew for all non-routine drilling operations.
* Informing Toolpusher or Senior Toolpusher and Client Representative if a deviation from planned operation occurs.
* Interpreting gauge readings showing status of weight indicator, rotary revolutions, circulation system flow and others for an optimum drilling process.
* Keeping accurate records of fluid displacement when tubulars are run in/pulled out of hole.
* Maintaining accurate records of tubular and tool dimensions (i.E. Internal and external diameter, fish neck, and serial numbers).
* Maintaining records of drilling and servicing operations.
* Maintain equipment files, drilling logs and records – performing all technical calculations required to carry out drilling operations.
* Monitoring drilling fluid status and alarms to ensure within specified criteria.
* Monitoring the well condition at all times (i.E. Depth, mud weight, weight on bit, possible deviation from course et cetera). Interpreting and responding to downhole conditions.
* Obtaining drilling core samples
* Operating drilling equipment and coordinating the operation of machinery and equipment necessary to prepare to drill and to drill.
* Operating the draw works to lift casing, dril collars and drill pipes as required to connect joints of pipe together.
* Operating drilling fluid circulating pumps to discharge the fluid from the pit into the drill string.
* Operating all equipment at the Driller’s console in a safe manner - maintaining a clean, tidy and hazard free condition on the drill floor and associated area.
* Operating rig floor controls.
* Operating controls of drill or service rig drilling and hoisting machinery including equipment such as pumps for air, water and mud, and equipment and tools used to correct problems. In drilled holes caused by mechanical breakdowns or by harmful natural conditions.
* Providing Rig Manager with information on parts required, maintain rig supplies.
* Providing on the job training to all crew personnel in all aspects of operations.
* Performing drilling related operations such as directional drilling, working stuck pipe, running and cementing casing strings, coring, fishing, assisting in wireline logging, well testing, and other special operations.
* Responsible for all equipment which is run into the well bore.
* Responsible for pipe and casing tallies.
* Responsible for maintaining, checking and tracking documents as required including: Trip Sheets, Trend Monitoring, HPHT Finger Printing.
* Supervising and directing operations in the picking up or laying down of tubular and all drilling related equipment.
* Securing the well during an emergency or well control situation - assisting in the well killing operations.
* Supervising the lubrication and maintenance of all drilling and associated equipment and ensure it is carried out in accordance to the Preventive Maintenance System.
