Position Purpose
Fiduciary Control/Value Preservation - Ensure fiduciary and statutory compliance across all entities in Cargill Animal Nutrition Vietnam. Create and preserve the integrity of a proper control environment. Produce accurate and proper financial reporting to stakeholders. Ensure that an integrated financial reporting system serve as the basis for managerial reporting. Manage financial risk and know other true risks, either due to internal or external factors.
Business Partnership/Value Creation - Bring financial and analytical expertise to the day-to-day management of the business. Partner with the business on strategic issues and business decisions to achieve and advance business objectives. Participate in determining and quantifying the value we create for our customers and business
Principal Accountabilities
30% - Act as the Financial Controller for the Cargill Animal Nutrition Business Unit in Vietnam. Accountable for the proper Control Environment in CAN Vietnam . All transactions and activities are performed as per Cargill`s Guiding Principles. Perform balance sheet reviews and follow up on a constant basis. Ensure financial and other reports are prepared as per local and US GAAP, local and US tax regulations and local and US laws for the all the CAN legal entities in Vietnam. Ensure compliance with all US and local regulations and laws. Lead IP, RIM, E retention, etc compliance.
25% - Work with the Senior Management Team to develop and implement strategic plans, business expansion plans, operating plans, capital budgets, at the same time maintain fiduciary control. Active involvement in determining the overall strategic and operational direction of the business.
25% - Identify new and implement both Cargill and CAN Best management practices and processes to improve our administrative efficiency. Continuously improve our working capital management and manage our legal, currency, commodity, interest, credit and other risks associated with the business. This includes networking with the other Bu.
20 % - Talent management in CAN Vietnam. Develop optimal finance structure and manage talent recruiting for the finance and accounting function in Vietnam to support the aggressive business growth. Develop IDP and identify the training needs, for the individuals to improve productivity and efficiency. Coach individuals basis leadership model, behavioral competencies, CAN values and Greenbook concepts. Ensure employee related issues are addressed. Actively manage finance employee compensation and recommend annual salary plans consistent with business needs.

The country financial, tax and legal regulations are still at the developing stage and changing, need to stay up to date with the latest development to stay compliance.
Growth in the Animal nutrition business in Vietnam is intense, the industry is still developing at a very fast pace, many foreign companies are entering the market and some local companies are exiting the market at the same time. Our mission is to be the market leader in swine, poultry, Ruminant, Pet, Aqua feed, and Consulting Service and our challenge is to be able to do that with minimum capital commitment to stay competitive.
Cargill Animal Nutrition has an aggressive growth plan in Vietnam, the challenge is to put in the right structure and staffing needs.

Required:
Minimum of 5 years of practical experience as a Controller
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with an Accounting emphasis
Fluency in spoken Vietnamese
Fluent in English, written and verbal.
Strong commitment to Guiding Principal and internal control
Demonstrate strong leadership skill
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skill
Experience working with an American multinational company
Ability to relocate to Vietnam
Problem-solving
Policies and procedures are established by the BU Management. Manuals available include but are not limited to Procedural, Credit, Accounting, Admin Procedures, Internal audits, NIS system etc Original, innovative and independent thinking are required daily in solving operational problems and making decisions.
Decision-making Responsibility
Decisions regarding controls, operational procedures, accounting and tax policies and reporting, regulatory reporting, financial systems improvement, process improvement, can be made independently.
Annual Performance Reviews, Salary Planning, and hiring/firing decisions.
All other day to day finance personnel decisions and internal control related process.
Decisions on interest rate positions, shared services. Decisions on currency positions.

Daily: Accounting Managers, General Manager, Business Group Leaders, Service Group Leaders to address both fiduciary and business partnership opportunities.
Regularly: Regional Shared Services (Tax, Law, IT, Treasury), CAN Regional Controller, Regional Financial Controller, External Customers on both credit and new business opportunities.
Occasionally: CAN WW Controller, KPMG, Outside Tax and Legal counsel.

Ensuring that the fiduciary and business partnership roles are held in correct balance.
Need to manage the day-to-day business with no authority or control over managers on same level (i.E. General managers Plant Operation managers, Merchandising Managers) Team concept plays a very important role in these situations. Able to lead in an environment where you do not have direct supervisory authority over those whose buy-in is essential to achieving your objectives.
Establishing priorities to maximize use of time - work proceeds on many unrelated fronts simultaneously.
Must be able to delegate and evenly distribute work-load to subordinates and hold them accountable.
Need to communicate and work effectively across different language and cultural norms.
