Fiscal Project Manager
JFF’s Fiscal Project Manager will work with the Fiscal Department. This person will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with the other members of the Fiscal Department as well as Information Technology.
Responsibilities:
• Manages project development from initiation to closure.
• Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with fiscal team and IT.
• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Responsible for the management and development of the Grant and Contract Management database.
• Provides training in JFF’s financial systems to new hires as well as current staff
• Acts as the financial software administrator for the Fiscal Department, responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of fiscal software.
• Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones. Develops and delivers progress reports.
• Possesses general understanding in the areas of application, programming, database, and system design. Develops and manage new software applications and modules.
• Acts as a liaison between the Fiscal Department and Information Technology.
• Performs as back up to key fiscal functions when needed.
• Project management/development of new web based budget tool.
• Maintains and updates fiscal website.
• Leads the implementation of the encumbrance module of MIP.
• Manages the deployment and implementation of web-based timesheet application.
• Manages specials projects for fiscal as well as occupancy and space allocation.
• Ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.
• In-depth knowledge of sound accounting practices that ensure JFF’s compliance and effective use of internal controls.
Qualifications:
• Experience and proficiency in deploying all aspects of accounting software packages and adapting them to ongoing operational practices. Experience with MIP preferred.
• Experience with using technology and other applications to streamline and automate processes in the Fiscal Department.
• Knowledge of grant administration for Federal, State, and Non-Federal contracts.
• In depth knowledge of sound accounting practices to ensure JFF’s compliance and effective use of internal controls.
• Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including Filemaker Pro, MS Office.
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
• Minimum of 5 years system and business administration experience required. Non-profit experience preferred.
• Business degree required.
