• Supervise, provide guidance to, and coordinate efforts of the planning, design and construction management activities, assigned personnel and subconsultants within a multiple phased construction project environment
• Develops and coordinate standardized procedures for monitoring the progression of planning, design and construction phases
• Monitors project and staff to ensure that projects are progressing according to established procedures and cost, time and quality objectives
• Interfaces with project designers and contractors on meetings, schedules and issues and to ensure procedures are followed
• Prepares reports for Deputy Project Director and client indicating procedure adherence and project progress
• Ensures periodic inspection of construction activities and compiles non¬compliance reports as appropriate
• Ensures that contractors are in compliance with project plans and specifications
• Monitors quality of work done by contractors and quality of materials used on-site
• Evaluates progress of each project phase to determine if time schedules and cost objectives are being met
• Administers information document flow from and to designers and contractors, and ensures timely appropriate responses and actions accordingly
• Administers change order process and claims process with contracted parties and ensures sound contract management practices are employed
• Strives to ensure project time and cost objectives are met
• Train, mentor and develop staff
• Maximize profit while minimizing risk
• Implement and follow Quality Assurance Program procedures and Management PM/CM Manual
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related subject or equivalent experience. Certification, registration, or licensing desirable and required if applicable to type of work.
Experience: Incumbent generally has over 20 years of related experience, including field experience and 10 years in a supervisory role. Incumbent has generally managed all phases of very complex large projects and has managed multiple projects concurrently.
Supervisory Skills: Provides direction and guidance to staff members of varied functions.
Scope Of Responsibility: Decisions made with understanding of procedures, professional standards, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
