Our client, a major oil and gas company, is expanding their current workforce and looking for Project Geologists.
As a Project Geologist, you will be responsible for evaluating exploration assets to generate new drilling opportunities. Your role is to provide the Company with prospect risk analysis, reserves evaluation, and prospect ranking. You will be involved in the preparation of well correlation and well programs, plus management of ongoing geological activities. You may also be tasked to review overseas projects.
To be considered, you must have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Geology (with M.Sc. or PhD preferable but not required).
* A minimum of ten (10) years experience working with a recognized company in the oil and gas sector.
* Strong familiarity with all aspects, tools, and evaluation methods relating to exploration geology.
* A track record of working up prospects that are drillable.
* Proven project level experience.
* Ability to supervise and work with team members.
* High level of computer and database skills.
* Good communications (oral and written) and customer service skills.
* International experience.
* Strong safety orientation.
* A valid Australian working visa (preferable but not required).
You will be highly regarded if you have:
* Previous expatriate experience in Australia and Asia.
* Experience in 2D/3D workstation interpretation and other geological computer applications.
* Good knowledge of all aspects relating to development geology and field development plans.
* Team player and self-starter spirit.

To perform in this role, you must be able to:
* Interpret and map seismic data sets in 2D/3D.
* Plan exploration programs and manage geological data using computer based applications.
* Evaluate new ventures at the exploration or production levels.
* Supervise and apply good knowledge in all phases of geological studies, from early stage exploration to development and production stages.
* Prepare and present technical reports to the Company’s management, partners, and government authorities.
* Generate recommendations to Company`s management. |
