Technical Engineer
B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or any equivalent related field
Seven years of experience in material management and procurement.
Experience in the construction industry and procurement
Professional knowledge in construction materials and chemicals standards and specifications. Professional knowledge in construction laws and regulations and know how of all codes. Knowledge in preparing RFQ`s.
Systematic thinking skills, Analytical skills, Time management skills, Planning and organizing skills, Coordination skills, Communication skills.
Studying and reviewing all technical drawings, B.O.Q. & Specification of the project and specifying all technical requirements of materials to be obtained for proper project`s execution; ensuring that the characteristics and quality of materials intended for purchase is consistent with required specifications in compliance with tender documents and contract agreement and issuing the Technical package and doing all material submittal as per project specification and schedule. Participating in implementing and transforming policies, goals and plans into medium and short-term plans to ensure internal work development and productivity increase. Participating in the development of the section’s work plan; distributing and following-up on work activities, projects and programs, monitoring work flow and reviewing work methods and procedures. Suggesting plans and programs that strive to boost the effectiveness of the department. Conducting periodic meetings with subordinates to ensure that priorities are clear and actions are running smoothly. Reviewing all technical drawings, tender documents, required materials quantities and contract requirements, and specify accordingly required materials characteristics and quality. Providing the Materials Section with specifications of materials to be obtained, reviewing suppliers proposals and recommending on the materials complying with technical requirements. Performing checks on purchased materials to ensure its compliance with the required standards, and contacting suppliers in case of nonconformities. Providing technical support and communicating with projects to clarify details concerning the specifications of purchased materials and its use when required. Ensuring a clear understanding of the technical features of materials in order to be properly stored or used when performing the projects` operations. Ensuring that all specified materials are available in the market and could be purchased of suppliers at the defined cost. Keeping records of all defined specifications and discussing any modifications in cases of unavailability of materials or changes for cost reduction.
