Task Description:
Job context
Telindus is offering advanced IP Voice Solutions carriers in the European market.
In order to support offerings of existing and new solutions, we are looking for a motivated senior technical consultant.
Job content
You Advice/Assist customers as a trusted professional on their IP/TEL strategic, tactical and technological choices and implementations in order to cover their IT needs.
Furthermore consultants need to contribute to the next generation state of the art specialised IT solutions.
Set up technical design taking into account existing infrastructure, client conditions and budget
Definition and execution of acceptance tests (test scripts, tasks planning, set-up of lab environment, daily follow-up and progress reporting...).
Implement the approved solutions by executing new and complex tasks or delegating standard tasks to engineers
* On one hand we have huge IP Telephony projects within the financial world, with their special requirements regarding overall networking & security.
These projects contain multiple sites, spread out all over the world, which must be installed & provisioned.
Afterwards remote monitoring (24/7) will assure the proper behaviour of the IPTel environment, with corrective maintenance & services included. Depending on the customer-needs, change & release management can also be performed.
* On the other hand smaller projects are also part of the job-portfolio within IP/TELTel, each with their own demands and specific customer requests.
In general, a customer driven approach is required to manage these projects and to achieve customer satisfaction.
IP Telephony requires good knowledge of IP-networking & security, since the IP Telephony applications are highly depending on this for delivering good IP/TEL quality and services.
Of course specific and on-the-job training will guide you through the complex, but challenging world of IP/TEL.
Requested Profile
In general, a customer driven approach is required to manage our IP Telephony/Unified Communications projects and to achieve customer satisfaction.
Technical knowledgeRequired:
* Technical education at bachelor level or same level achieved by experience
* Minimum 3 years of proven experience in IP Telephony/Unified Communications on AVAYA projects
* Good knowledge of public Voice/VoIP and enterprise telecommunications architecture.
* Working knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, MGCP, H323, etc.)
* A good WAN-LAN knowledge
A plus:
* Avaya certified
* 5 years experience in the Telecom world.
* Knowledge of Unified Communications applications
* Knowledge of Windows, Unix and/or Linux operating systems at an administrator level
* Applications background with regards to Microsoft AD, Exchange, OCS; Lotus Notes; etc.
